HypnoBirthing educator Jane Celeste excited to help parents prepare for a relaxed, calm, and positive birth experience

It's nice to meet you!

Hi! I’m Jane Celeste, a mom of two, a former academic but forever art historian, aspiring midwife, and pregnancy and birth-obsessed!

TL;DR I've completely switched careers into birthwork after using HypnoBirthing for both my planned surgical birth and my unmedicated VBAC. I have continued to learn and earn more certifications in doula support as well as biomechanics and body balancing for birth. Scroll down for a complete list of my training and certification. I love supporting people through the childbearing year and helping them learn how amazing their body is and how many options they truly have!

My journey into birth work began in 2017 when I became pregnant with my first baby. My husband and I were both graduate students in Houston at the time and we knew that we wanted to take advantage of all the options our community had to offer and look beyond just a hospital class for our childbirth education. We found our way to HypnoBirthing and had an amazing experience in the class! My son’s birth went a totally different way than I thought it would (spoiler: we had a planned c-section), but I ended up becoming proof that this method is fantastic for any type of birth. I was able to approach his birth with a sense peace, knowing that I had made the right decisions for us and that I could still give him a warm, loving, and calm introduction to his new world outside of the womb.

Fast forward a doctoral degree, a pandemic, and a new state, and I was pregnant with my daughter. I immediately began my HypnoBirthing practice again and went on to have a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). In the bleary-eyed haze of those early postpartum weeks, when I was snuggling my two babies and still using many techniques I gained from HypnoBirthing, I realized how much I wanted to share this method with other parents.  My goal as a HypnoBirthing® educator is to give you the tools to make your birth experience calm, gentle, and above all — positive. These techniques put you in the driver seat of your birth, so that you are in control of your responses to anything that may arise during pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and even into the rest of your life. I aim for each family to leave these classes feeling like they are a stronger family unit.

In the time since becoming a HypnoBirthing instructor, I have continued my perinatal education and become a certified birth doula, certified postpartum doula, and most recently a certified Body Ready Method® pro! BRM® was an incredible 6-month experience, during which I got to take a truly deep dive into our anatomy, physiology, and the fascinating biomechanics of pregnancy and birth. It's an amazing complement to HypnoBirthing and allows me to address the mental, emotional, and physical support needs of pregnancy and birth in a much more specific and individualized way!

All of this training, as well as the continuing education that I constantly pursue, very much inform my work with clients and families. Currently, I am working towards my nursing degree on my journey to become a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), and I just feel so honored to be working in this field!

Why FERN and SAGE

Fern Leaves

The symbolism of ferns and sage plants has deep roots in our ancestral heritage.

Ferns and their tightly spiraled fiddleheads represent new life, new beginnings, and future generations. You are preparing to welcome a brand new life and to embark on a new beginning for yourself and your family.

Sage is a symbol of strength and wisdom. HypnoBirthing® teaches that women's bodies, minds, and spirits are strong and that she and her baby carry innate wisdom within themselves.

This symbolism is a reminder to me and all birthing families that we should respect our intuitions, honor our bodies, and welcome our new generation into a place of love and warmth.
